What kind of pictures does everyone enjoy? Are you a portrait person like myself.... Where a great portrait of someone in their environment just really grabs your attention? Or are you a family posed for the camera picture person? Maybe you are the type of person that just likes great landscapes and enjoy a good sunset or sunrise picture? Either way, some of the things that tend to get lost in photography is the basics, like lighting, or focus. I know personally if a picture is really good focus and has excellent lighting, often times the type of photography isn't as big of a deal, it actually makes the image that much better and makes me want to run out and grab more images similar to that image that has those things. I am thinking about teaching a DSLR course for $50 dollars, in the course you will learn some basic things like shooting in manual mode and learning about how the exposure triangle works. So many people use the auto settings on a camera and expect the camera to guess the right settings based on what it sees... the problem with this is the camera doesn't see the same as you or I... also, the camera doesn't know exactly what it is you are trying to capture... it just takes the light and dark areas and tries to calculate what the proper exposure should be... but sometimes you want that beautiful bokeh (blurred background) to help your subject stand out in the picture, or sometimes you want to freeze your little one in mid swing during a little league game. Well, the auto settings may not allow you to do those things, but learning the exposure triangle and shooting in manual will help you control motion, and manage your depth of field or amount of area that is in focus from front to back in the image.
So, if anyone is interested, please let me know, if I can get enough people that are interested I will schedule a class and get everyone outside and shooting and becoming better photographers!!!
